TEAM ROPE (RObot for Personal Entertainment)

RoboCup is one of the most established and far reaching robotics games held annually around the world. It is an arena for all kinds of university-developed and industry-developed robots to showcase and compete with each other. RoboCup has come to its 9th year in 2005 and this time it will be held in Osaka, Japan, from July 13th to July 17th.

The aim of the project is building a series of humanoid robots for soccer playing in the humanoid league - the most challenging and eye catching league in RoboCup.

ROPE II

ROPE II, our debut in RoboCup event in 2004 Portugal, ranked second in the H80 category with a 5th overall ranking, among 13 participating humanoid robots.

ROPE IV

ROPE IV (left) has a total of 22 DOFs, 6 DOFs being on each leg, 4 DOFs on each arm and 2 DOFs on the waist. Each DOF is actuated with RC digital servo motors. Microcontroller board has replaced the PC-104 to make the whole weight of the robot less.

We are actively recruiting talented and motivated people all the time, to share the vision with us. We would be able to offer UROP, RBVIP, FYP and postgraduate projects for you.
