Joystick is allowed to be used during set up and calibration.

Notebook running Windows 7 will be provided together with 2.6.3 installed. If you prefer to use version 2.8.1 or any other version instead, please let us know by 30 Jun 2012, so we can install your preferred version for your group.
(Please note that version 2.8.1 and 2.6.3 cannot co-exist on the same PC.)

Qualifying Round: 22 March 2012, 08:30 - 17:00, at ITE College West (CCK)
Qualifying Round Briefing and Familiarization: 13 March 2012, 11:00 am onwards at ITE College West (CCK)
(This is the same venue for the QR. Venue will be available till 17:00 for competitors' familiarization).

1)    Can we use gyro? If yes, is it possible for them to order it?
Yes. We offer the gyroscope sensor measuring the change in orientation.

At the moment, we are evaluating a new gyroscope also measuring the changes in position. But we do not support it by now, so you are not able to order it.


2)     What is the high performance camera mentioned?
We recommend the Logitech C905 camera to get mjpeg compressed images as well as YUYV encoded raw images for image processing.

3)     Is the latest robotino view software version 2.6.3 compatible with the old robotino?
YES

4)     Is it possible to make available for the 5GHz LANCOME Robotino WAP?
YES

5)     Is there any changes to the existing camera hardware?
NO

6)     What is the latest firmware version for the Robotino and also the list of version of Hardware & Firmware.
If you mean the Robotino operating system, it is version 2.4.

World Skills Singapore 2011 - Mobile Robotics

Finals: 20-22 Jan 2011

For the finals, the following are allowed:

- Robotino 2.0 control Unit (New version of the upper half of the Robotino Hardware (includes New EA09 interface board, PC 104 controller, and display)

- EA09 Interface Board (Part # 567204) - This is the new release which:
* 32 bit microprocessor
* JTAG interface
* Serial Comm with PC104 plus
* 4 Ethernet Interfaces
* FPGA for reading sensor data
* Activation and control of at least 4 DC motors
* External I/O Interface with at least 8 digital inputs and outputs (short cicuit proof and overload protected), 10 analog inputs (0 - 10 V) and 2 relays

- ALLNET WLAN Access Point (Order #567228 from www.festo.com) - this will be provided to competitors. Competitors have option of using this instead of the existing one. This WLAN access point is included in the new Robotino 2.0 control unit.

- new chasis (containing DC motors, drivers and wheels, etc) - there is practically no change with the original (first version) of the chasis.

Notebook running Windows 7 will be provided together with Robotino 1.7 and 2.4.X installed (same as the one used during Qualifying Round)
