A glance of Singapore Culinary profile ……

Chilli Mud Crabs, along with black pepper crabs, are among the favourite local dishes of Singapore .

 The multicultural spirit of Singapore is reflected in its culinary spreads.  Chinese, Malay, and Indian cuisine make up the majority of the choices; each category in itself comes in various styles.    

 

Typical local favourites have usually evolved into variations of the dishes of the original countries where they came from. 

Satay – or skewered meat, one of the

popular South-East Asian dishes.

Malay dishes are the original of Singapore .  Favourite among the tourists are the skewers locally known as satay.

 

 

Chinese cuisine is the most common in Singapore , as Chinese accounts for 70% of the population.  Chicken Rice is an extremely popular dish, so are various types of noodles.  

 

Indian dishes comprise of the northern and southern Indian cuisine.  This include the already famous numbers such as the briyani, curries, masala, and tandoori.  

The Peranakan dishes are the typical example, coming from the Chinese community who have lived in this country for many generations and many have adopted the Malay lifestyle and religion, fusing them into the Chinese customs.
